Surly and The Muckrakers at 10:30pm-ish

Here’s what I consider a female String Band/Bluegrass Super Group.
Here’s some of the most talented and lovely ladies to ever grace a stage
all together! I’m told that each gal will take a turn being surly.
Heck, they should call themselves The Sock Rockers because that is precisely
what they will do tonight, rock your socks off. (Other articles of
clothing I can neither confirm nor deny)

Zara Bode (Sweetback Sisters), Melody Allegra (of Howling Harpies),
Hilary Hawke (Hogzilla) and Nora Jane Struthers (Dirt Road Sweetheart).

Old timey, bluegrassy sweet lady singing at it’s best.

Copper Kettle at 9:30pm

Once more, Copper Kettle lights up the stage at

Freddy's Backroom. The unofficial house band of
The Kings County Opry. Last time they played, the joint was
totally packed. Dock Oscar was known to comment that
it was a “Banner Night”.

Copper Kettle is a bluegrass band lead by Fred

Skellinger, who adheres to the high-lonesome sound of

pure bluegrass whether playing old standards or

original tunes.

There's some fine picking going on here with
Fred Skellenger - Mandolin and Vocals.
Dave Stephens - Banjo and Vocals.
Mike Gerbec - Guitar and vocals.
Rob Hecht - Fiddle.
Jason Hogue - Bass and Vocals.

The heart of
Copper Kettle is in their fine harmonies. So come on down
where the grass is blue.

The Song Circle at 8:30pm

Four performers around a microphone taking turns singing songs and
picking. Each singer plays an old tune or an original song in this
intimate setting. Tonight we have
Hilary Hawke—Banjo mistress extraordinaire.
Nate Schweber—Rootsy rocker with fringed suede jacket.
Dock Oscar and Ebie Carter—will duet it to you hard.

This shindig opens the show at 8:30pm.
