Rench at 10:30pm

Introducing block rockin' honky-tonk, New American music for the 21st century, built with love in a little studio, hand crafted, running on inspiration and imagination and duct tape, calling on the spirit of Gram Parsons and Otis Redding and KRS-ONE and Dolly Parton and Nina Simone and Willie Nelson and Missy Elliott and Johnny Cash, to write about what we feel and play what our hearts tell us, because to make it happen is reason enough, and to share it with the world is all the reason you need, because we tell the truth with music and the truth is beautiful.

Rench is a singer, songwriter, and producer with roots in honky-tonk, hip-hop, and trip-hop music. With the help of very talented friends he records and releases music because he enjoys it. He likes sad songs and pedal steel guitar. He likes drum samples and scratches. He likes playing live sets at Hanks Saloon in Brooklyn.

M Shanghai String Band at 9:30pm

The "Earth, Wind, and Fire" of string bands will envelope you in a joyous wall of sound with a roster that has been known to swell to 15 strong.

The M SHANGHAI String Band of Brooklyn, New York have been playing together since 2002, when they first started their monthly get-togethers at the M Shanghai Bistro & Den. Their debut album, Up From the Ground Below, recorded in one day in the restaurant's dining room, set the mission in motion: timeless original songs played with a sense of abandon, captured completely live. On the night of the album’s release party, the MSSB performed four sets to a capacity crowd: Brooklyn’s best-kept secret was out.

The Ambassadors of Love at 8:30pm

Full pedal string band music. High harmonies "brother duet" style. Blazing fiddle. Harmonica tangier than BBQ sauce. Hardcore mandolin action. Experience old time fiddle tunes, bluegrass, and murder ballads sung so sweet you'll cry. New tunes made old, old tunes that you're not gonna believe. (The Smiths and Air Supply?)

An all-you-can-eat buffet of country styled string band goodness.

Featuring:

Dock Oscar--vocals, guitar

Ebie Carter--vocals

Gary Keenan--mandolin, slide guitar

Shakey Dave--harmonica
